Objective
The object of the course:
In the Introduction to XR technologies course you will learn how different XR technologies, such as Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality and Mixed Reality, are utilized in different fields. During the course you will use different kinds of XR devices and explore different kinds of XR experiences related to your field of study.
After completing this course, you will have gained insight into how different XR technologies could be utilized in your field of study. You will also understand how different XR experiences are produced and will be able to communicate the advantages and disadvantages of different XR-technologies.
You do not need prior experience of XR technologies on this course, and you do not also need any special IT skills. The course is directed for everyone who is interested in expanding their digitalization toolkit.

The learning objectives of the course:
After completing the course, you will know the basics of currently relevant XR technologies and how they are applied. You will be familiar with the basic terminology, current trends and conventions of the utilization of XR technologies in your field. You will have a general understanding of how XR experiences are produced.
Content
During this course you will use XR devices and explore XR experiences related to your study field in practice. You will utilize different applications to do a practical study of the XR technologies relevant to the digitalization of your field.

Sufficient (1): You understand the basics of the currently relevant XR technologies.
Satisfactory (2): You can understand the basics of the currently relevant XR technologies and can find practical applications for the technologies in your field of study.
Assessment criteria, good (3)
Good (3): You understand the basics of the currently relevant XR technologies and can determine how the practical applications for the technologies can impact your field of study.
Very good (4): You understand the basics of currently relevant XR technologies and can evaluate the advantages and disadvantages of how the different technological applications can impact your field of study.
Assessment criteria, excellent (5)
Excellent (5): You understand the basics of and can create new concepts with currently relevant XR technologies. You are able to evaluate the advantages and disadvantages of your concepts in the context of your study field.
