Objective
In companies today the automation is often done by using robotics. There is often need to tailor the robots more suitable for the company. At this course you will get familiar to different type of robots and the possibility to tailor them. The interface of the frames of the robots will be familiar to you and you will also get to know the grippers and their connections to the robots. You will understand the principles of programming robots and designing the parts of the robots.
Engineering practice:
You know how to analyze the parts of the robots and you know the programming principles of robots.
Communication and team-working:
You can communicate about robotics with automaton designer.
Content
Different robots, grippers of the robots, principles of robot programming.
Qualifications
Basics of Automation. Basics of manufacturing technology. Basics of material technology.
Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)
Adequate (1): You can identify different robots and their operating principles. You know the interfaces of robots. You know automation in robotics.
Satisfactory (2): You recognize and understand the structures of different robots and know their operating principles. You are able to fit other parts into the interfaces. You know how to work with an automation designer with robots.
Assessment criteria, good (3)
Good (3): You recognize and understand the structures of different robots and their operating principles. You are able to design different parts for interfaces and understand their effects on the robot. Together with an automation designer, you know how to utilize different robots.
Very good (4): You recognize and understand the structures of different robots and their operating principles. You are able to design different new parts for interfaces and understand their effects and importance to the robot. Together with the automation team, you know how to utilize different robots.

Learning materials and recommended literature
PowerPoint pohjainen luentomateriaali. Muutoin oppimateriaalit Ilmoitetaan tarkemmin opintojakson aloituksessa.
Teaching methods
Luennot, tiedonhaku ja soveltavat oppimistehtävät. Ongelmalähtöisen oppimisen kautta opiskelijoilla on oppimistehtäviä ratkottavana.
Exam dates and retake possibilities
Kirjallinen tentti opinjakson lopussa. Tentin ajankohta joulukuun puoliväli 2024.
Student workload
Luennot 45 h, oppimistehtävät 45h ja itsenäinen työskentely 40 h. Yhteensä 130 h oppimistyötä.
