Objective

After completing this course, the student:
• can define what play skills and peer interaction skills are.
• can observe play skills and peer interaction skills of a child.
• has uploaded observation data to an application and analyzed the observation results.
• knows how to use the data for pedagogical / intervention planning in order to support a child´s play and interaction skills.
• has experienced technologies supporting child´s development.

Content

In this course we will fins answers to the questions:
What are play skills?
What are peer interaction skills?
Is it possible observe these skills and find ways to support development, learning and wellbeing of a child?
In addition, during the course you will get to know examples how to use technology to support child´s development. Both Finnish and international research findings and resources will be used during the course.

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

The student has reached the learning goals by passing all the online assignments and attended the intensive program at Jamk campus.

The course is offered by Jamk University of Applied Sciences, Institute of Rehabilitation, in co-operation with RALLA, which is an expert, research and education company for supporting children´s inclusion, play and peer activities.
