Objective

The aim of the course is to enchange students' capacity to recognise, assess and articulate new business opportunities in a global market place, to provide them with an appreciation of the role of selling, marketing and communication in entrepreneurship, and to develop their skills in these topics.By the end of the course, students should be able to describe the key concepts of sales and communication theory, technology adoption life cycle, as well as the forms of selling in an entrepreneurial context; how to recruit and manage sales and marketing people to new firms, and the role of communication in entrepreneurship.
During the course the students develop essential skills in oral communication, negotiation and selling, written presentation, team-building, critical reflection, as well as analytical skills under conditions of uncertainty.

Content

The process of selling and communication including different forms of selling and recruitment and managing sales people, focusing on new ventures. Communication in entrepreneurship, ethical issues in selling and communication.

Assessment is based on knowledge, skills and competence in accordance with the National and European Qualifications Framework, level 7.

1 (Sufficient) - 2 (Satisfactory):The student shows only a satisfactory knowledge of the material and concepts but fails to show a convincing ability to apply the knowledge to real life situation nor to communicate the concepts in an effective manner.
3(Good) - 4 (Very good):The student shows good knowledge of material and concepts and is able to communicate these in an effective way.
5 (Excellent): The student shows exceptional knowledge of subject material. The student demonstrates the ability to apply the material to real-life situations and challenges with superior communications skills.
