In the digital business specialisation, students learn to understand digital business models and apply them in practice. The studies help students to understand concepts related to data-based business and learn to create an online service of their own. In addition to this, they will be able to perceive how business is developed through online sales. In the specialisation, they learn to utilise data, digital tools and software in a versatile way to support work assignments. The specialisation provides students with the prerequisites to work in digital business tasks.
The finance management specialisation provides students with the fundamentals of finance and investments as well as the qualification to operate in finance service sales as defined in General Securities qualification. In addition to this, competence is completed with applicable modules on law and accounting. The finance management specialisation provides excellent prerequisites to work in banks, insurance companies, investment and fund management companies, and corporate finance. The studies are implemented in cooperation with companies in the financial sector.
Students specialising in marketing learn how to improve an organisation’s profits through marketing. In addition to this, students learn the key theoretical concepts and methods concerned with marketing. The studies will allow students to understand the significance of customer insight, sales, marketing communications, digitalisation of marketing, service design and brand building in business development. Students may either focus on digital marketing or sales and customer relationship management in their studies. The specialisation prepares students to work in various marketing roles.
Sport Business studies aim at increasing student's business skills and knowledge in the field of sport. Sport being one of the most rapidly growing industries globally, these studies provide possibilities to network and study in international environment. These studies give the students solid opportunities to become employed in a fast developing sport business organizations, sporting clubs and federations. Sport business studies combine the newest theories of sport marketing and business intelligence, sport management and leadership, sport development with practical research projects and internships. Sport Business studies are taught in English.
The objective of the financial management BUSINESS-specialisation is to provide students with competence in financial management and managerial accounting. The studies focus on managerial accounting methods and tools as well as information systems, which can be used to steer company operations towards business goals. The specialisation produces competence in economic steering mechanisms, processes and goal-oriented operations, which are connected to forward-thinking planning, implementation, monitoring and business intelligence. This specialisation is multidisciplinary combining business knowledge, managerial accounting, management aspects, processes and information systems. Students who specialise in financial management BUSINESS-specialisation are provided with comprehensive prerequisites to work in different managerial accounting roles supporting business operations and decision-making.
The goal of the financial management and FINANCIAL specialization is to provide students with expertise related to external accounting. The most important outcomes are reports related to financial statements and taxation that meet the standards of the Accounting Act, the Accounting Regulation and tax legislation. In minor scale the topics can be VAT issues related to purchase and sales, or alternatively special topics in payroll. This orientation also provides good skills for front-line audit expert positions. This orientation very typically proceeds to jobs such as Accountant, Bookkeeper or Payroll Clerk - regardless of industry.
The managing resilience specialisation is aimed at providing students with an understanding of the core concepts, theories and tools related to the management of the resilience and human resources. The resilience will be a central success factor for businesses in the future; students are provided with the prerequisites to perceive of the ability to renew as a whole and apply tools to managing the ability of individuals, work communities and organisations to renew. Through their studies, students understand the significance of leading human resources in achieving the company’s strategic goals. In addition to this, students are able to form an understanding of the human resources practices, HR processes, occupational well-being themes and legal requirements in human resources work throughout the organisation. They also learn more about the opportunities offered by digitalisation and digital HR tools and are able to apply them in human resources management.
