Learning outcomes of the course
The students are familiar with the child's musical development and the starting point of music education of children under 3 years of age. They understand the significance of general and musical development as well as the importance of parent-child interaction support as a basis in the planning of musical activity and its implementation for children under 3 years of age.
Goal conscious musical education for children under 3 years of age:
- general/musical development
- musical/ general goals of teaching
- teaching planning taking into account the age of the child and its develoment level as well as its parents (work habits and methods)
Basics of music education during pregnancy
Prerequisites and co-requisites
The students have completed the course Elements of Music Education - the part concerning early childhood music education; are familiar with the main basic factors in music education, with the contents of early age music education, work habits and goals.
Assessment criteria - grade 1 and 2
Excellent (5): The students show excellent acquaintance with the musical development of children under 3 years, with the points of departure in music education and with conversations carried out in lessons during pregnancy and written assignments. They command the teaching planning based on the musical activity and its implementation using and applying diverse work methods in a many-sided way as adapted to the practice assignments. They show to possess a mature sense of self-evaluation and development in the demonstrations and excercises. They are capable of cooperative work contributing to group wellbeing and in agreement with the professional principles of their field.
Praiseworthy (4): The students show praiseworthy acquaintance with the musical development of children under 3 years, with the point of departure of their musical education and with the conversations carried out in the lessons during pregnancy and in written assignments. They are capable of planning and implementing a plan based on the teaching planning using diverse work methods many-sidedly in written and as concerns practical applications in practical excercises. The students are able to work cooperatively and to contribute to the well being of the group, acting according with professional practices in their own field.
Good (3): The students show that they command the basics in musical development of children under 3 years,the starting points of music education and the conversations carried out in the lessons during pregnancy, and written assignments. They are capable of carrying out elementary musical activity on the basis of teaching planning, their planning and realization using diverse methods in the written and practical application of exercise assignments. They are capable of self-evaluation of their development realistically. The students are capable of professional work.
Acceptable (2): The students have knowledg of what the course is about, but their personal input in the conversations carried out during the lessons is insuficient. They lack self-assurance in planing and implementation. Their capacity for self-evaluation is superficial.
Passing (1): The students seem to command the basic skills talked about in this evaluation catalogue, but their work leaves a lot to be desired in all issues.
