The purpose of the course
This course introduces you to the basics of nursing for children and adolescents.

Nursing competences of the course
Evidence based nursing and decision making competence
Patient safety and quality assurance competence
Client competence in health and social care

Learning outcomes of the course
After completing this course, you identify the developmental stages and individual needs of the child and adolescent.
You recognize the specifics of evidence-based nursing and medication in children and adolescents.
You understand the importance of interaction and environmental diversity in working with the child, adolescent and family at different stages of the nursing process.
You are familiar with the digital and nursing techniques used in nursing children and adolescents.

Child and adolescent growth and development
Basic knowledge of for nursing children and adolescents

Fluid balance and medication for children and adolescents

The student masters the contents of anatomy and physiology as well as pharmacology and medicine related to the above mentioned nursing studies.
The student masters the methods of health promotion, internal medicine, mental health, substance abuse and crisis management.
The student knows the principles of evidence-based decision making.
