Content
On this course, students design and develop a game prototype with both digital and material elements. The project will be a co-operation between students of JYU, JAMK University of Applied Sciences, and Gradia Jyväskylä vocational institution.
Location and time
Timing: 26.10.2021 - 31.3.2022. Part of the schedule is agreed with participants after the course begins. In addition to common meetings, course includes lot of independent work in teams. Commitment is required to get the grade from the course.
Teaching methods
On this course, students design and develop a game prototype with both digital and material elements. The project will be a co-operation between students of JYU, JAMK University of Applied Sciences, and Gradia Jyväskylä vocational institution.
Between 15-20 students are selected to the course based on the applications. Taking part on the project requires interest in game design, game development and creative working, as well as commitment to work with the team for the duration of the entire project.
Application (JAMK students): The course has a separate application process between 16.8.2021 and 10.9.2021.
Send your freeform application (1 page) and a transcript of you study records to: mika.karhulahti@jamk.fi. Give your email the heading: APPLICATION / HYBRID. In your application, tell us why you want to participate in the project, what you expect from it, and what would you specifically want to focus on (e.g. an area of game development, a technological tool etc.). Write your application as carefully as you would write a job application. In your application list in the order of interest at least two (2) of the following project roles:
- producer/project manager
- game designer
- programmer
- graphic designer
- audio designer
Those chosen to participate in the project will be notified on September 14, 2021 at the latest. The choices will be made based on the course fitting the applicant's studies and their timing, and the applicant's career goals and previous studies.
