Objective

The student understands the diversity of the terms environment and accessibility. The student knows how to search for information related to environmental assessment and adaptation and is familiar with research and development activities related to accessibility. The student is able to create an accessible and adaptable environment and promote occupational justice. The student understands the possibilities that society and organisations have at their disposal to influence physical accessibility. The student is able to assess the accessibility of an environment and solve problems related to accessibility. The student is familiar with few technological solutions and with few wellness technology applications.

Content

Environment and accessibility as terms and introduction to related research data.
Assessment of physical accessibility and adaptation of an environment.

1. The student has a command of basic information on environments and accessibility.
2. The student has a command of basic information on environments and accessibility. The student knows how to find information related to accessibility and knows how to share this information during the course. The student knows the key domestic and international information sources on accessibility. The student takes responsibility for the assignments and projects given during the course and acts in the agreed upon manner.

The student knows how to assess this information critically while demonstrating creative thinking. The student is able to apply the gathered information in diverse manners when completing learning assignments as cooperative learning. The student is able to solve even surprising problems that may come up in accessibility with an innovative approach, creating new modes of action and viewpoints. The student is able to assess his/her own competence and the skills he/she has acquired broadly, critically and constructively. The student takes the initiative to take responsibility for the assignments and projects given during the course using a constructive approach.
The student is able to compare and contrast the related research.
