Objective

The student:
• is familiar with a variety of human perceptions relating to cultural values, and is able to identify their own values
• identifies the inter-relationship between social, political, economic, environmental and cultural factors on wellness and health and can understand their role at different levels of health and wellness promotion, aiming to ensure results such as reduction of health inequalities and the prevention of social exclusion
• is able to identify and utilize health promotion strategies, to plan culturally sensitive social and health care for individuals and different cultures
• is aware of the basics of disaster management
• is aware of the his/her specific professional methods that can be used to mitigate the social and health impact of disasters.

The student:
• explains variety of human perceptions, values and cultures, and reflects on own values
• describes the inter-relationship between social, political, economic, environmental and cultural factors on wellness and health and explains their role reduction of health inequalities and the prevention of social exclusion
• recognizes and utilizes health promotion strategies, to plan culturally sensitive care for individuals and different cultures
• discusses the most important factors to consider at the various phases of disaster and explain how best relief work can be coordinated

You are able to discuss relationships between social, political, economic, environmental and cultural factors on health and well-being of individuals and societies.
You recognize social and health inequalities and their effects on well-being of individuals and societies.
You present your knowledge about methods and aims to reduce social and health inequalities.
You demonstrate your knowledge of global health promotion strategies and organizations involved.
You are able to consider impacts of natural and man made disasters on individuals and societies and are able to describe basics of disaster management.
