Objective

The purpose of the course is to increase the understanding of the health status of the population and the causes, backgrounds and trends of differences in well-being and health in the development of nursing care for non-communicable diseases.

Competence objectives
You can utilize information about the health status of the population and the causes, backgrounds and directions of change in well-being and health in the development of nursing care for non-communicable diseases.

You apply evidence-based practices and appropriate methods to identify, assess, prevent, and intervene in lifestyles and risk factors in the treatment of non-communicable diseases.

You base clinical decision-making on nursing guidelines, recommendations and research findings taking into account the individual situation of the patient. You make use of the patient and their relatives and a multi-professional team to make decisions.

You will apply your highly specialized expertise in health promotion and disease prevention at the individual, community, and societal levels in a way that produces health benefits.

Trends in population health as challenges for the development of health and social services and the development of nursing expertise
National and international strategies, action programs and recommendations for the promotion of public health and the prevention and treatment of non-communicable diseases
Lifestyles and risk factors that impair public health and their screening and identification methods
