The student understands the destination`s management system, network model and the meaning of responsible planning. The student also understands how the destinations are developed and is able to identify the destination's strategic challenges and development opportunities.
The student recognizes the value of historical, geographic and cultural attractions and services in tourism.
She/he also understands the tourism management ecosystem concept as well as companies' and stakeholders' involvement.
The student is able to conduct research and analysis on a destination and networks, and generate recommendations.

Assessment is based on knowledge, skills and competence in accordance with the National and European Qualifications Framework, level 6

Assessment methods are based on learning objectives.
A course accepted as completed is assessed on the following five-step scale:

2 (Satisfactory) A student identifies different concepts and circumstances of tourism destinations` development, planning and value creation. The student demonstrates stakeholders' involvement in the ecosystem. A student is able to apply the knowledge to practice in creating a destination analysis and plan.

1 (Sufficient) A student knows different concepts and circumstances of tourism destinations` development, planning and value creation. The student understands the stakeholder involvement in the ecosystem. A student is able to apply the knowledge to practice in creating a destination analysis and plan.

If the student does not meet the minimum criteria set for the course, the grade is 0 (Fail).

3 (Good) A student is able to illustrate different concepts and circumstances in tourism destinations´ development, planning and value creation.
The student is able to demonstrate responsible stakeholders´ involvement in the tourism networks and ecosystem.
The student can adapt destination analysis and plan both in research-based theory and practice.

4 (Very Good) A student is able to use different concepts and circumstances in destinations' development, planning and value creation.
The student distinguishes the responsible stakeholders' involvement in the tourism networks and ecosystem from the conflicting actors. The student is able to justify theory- and practice-based destination analysis and plan.

5 (Excellent) A student can critically argue for the concepts and circumstances used in responsible tourism destinations' development, planning and value creation.
The student is also able to reason and develop the stakeholders' involvement in tourism networks and the ecosystem.
The student can take a critical and innovative approach to the theory-and practice-based destination analysis and plan.
