Masters challenging situations in counselling with professionalism. Applies advanced expert knowledge in designing, choosing, and conducting patient education methods to enhance the self-care of clients with a chronic condition and in the prevention and care of infectious diseases. Creates, develops, and critically evaluates evidence-based counselling interventions and educational e-health and other digital material aimed at different types of patient groups.

Coordinates and/or leads multi-professional teams which are responsible for the client’s care. Considers how the dynamics and organizational culture affect the teams’ performance and outcomes. Educates healthcare professionals in working communities to use and apply practices based on the best, current evidence on digital technologies.

Demonstrates advanced skills and knowledge in holistic clinical examination of health status using evidence-based methods. Identifies, evaluates, and synthesizes valid conclusions concerning the health situations and state of health/illness of a client by autonomous clinical decision-making. Integrates a body of evidence from clinical nursing guidelines and other evidence-based practice sources into decision-making concerning the individual situation of a patient. Takes responsibility of independent decisions as an advanced nurse practitioner concerning the selection of appropriate nursing interventions/methods, the implementation of a care plan, and monitoring of a patient’s health condition. Assesses the fulfilment of the goals of the care plan.

Promotes the development of the advanced practitioner role in clinical, professional, and political contexts. Renews and develops health services in accordance with the organization's strategy in her/his own field of clinical expertise. Creates, actively participates in, and reforms professional networks that develop advanced practice and enhance the well-being and health outcomes of the population in focus. Acts as a mentor, role model, and trainer of advanced practice in multi-professional teams and networks by following ethical codes and principles. Advocates for and participates in creating an organization that supports safe client care and collaborative practice. Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of the nursing outcomes of strategies, services, and interventions. Renews customer-oriented services by evaluating their sustainability and cost-effectiveness.
