Objective
The student knows the legislative foundation related to the occupational health care. The student is familiar with the general principles of occupational health care and is able to act according to good occupational health care practices. The student is familiar with the preventative processes of the occupational health care. The student recognises work-related exposures and their causality to work.
Content
Legislation, such as the Occupational Health Care Act 1383/2001, Occupational Safety and Health Act 738/2002, Working Hours Act 605/1996, Act on Occupational Safety and Health Enforcement and Cooperation on Occupational Safety and Health at Workplaces 44/2006, Act on Occupational Diseases 1343/1988, Employment Contracts Act 55/2001. General principles of occupational health care. Good occupational health care practice, such as occupational health care co-operation, client-oriented approach and ethical actions. Preventative processes of the occupational health care. Work-related morbidity.
Qualifications
The student knows the principles of occupational well-being, occupational safety, patient transfers and visual display unit work. The student is able to perform key first aid measures and follow the operating principles of asepsis. The student knows the principles of assessing and promoting functional capacity. The student is familiar with the basic services of the social and health care field.
