Objective
The student is able to implement research or development project, which benefits working life of his/her own field of study and his/her professional development. He/she can do it independently, responsibly and in cooperation with others. Student can describe and justify research/development methods, what and why he/she has used. He/she can describe and justify the use of data analyzing methods. He/she is able to communicate clearly, correctly and in an illustrative way with different audience at different phases of master’s thesis. Student is able to report results of master’s thesis, evaluate them and give development proposals in an appropriate way, writing, orally and visually.

The course is evaluated as Pass (S)/Fail (0). If the student does not meet the minimum criteria set for the course, the grade is 0 (Fail).
Pass (S)
The student:
• implements working life, field-specific or professional knowledge from a useful research or development project independently, responsibly and in cooperation with others
• knows how to process and critically evaluate information, theories, concepts, methods and principles from his/her own field
• knows how to report the results of his/her work, evaluate them and bring forth suggestions for development in an appropriate manner in writing, orally and visually
• knows how to communicate his/her work at different stages clearly, rationally and graphically to a peer and other audiences.
The Master’s thesis is evaluated summatively following its completion and presentation, on a five-point scale according to thesis-specific criteria: 5 (Excellent), 4 (Very good), 3 (Good), 2 (Satisfactory) and 1 (Adequate). The evaluation criteria for the thesis are published on the jamk.fi/en Web site.
