Objective

The student recognizes and understands the effects of managing/leading and factors of organizational behavior on different types of organizations in different situations. The student is able to solve practical problems of management, leadership and organizational behavior. She/he is able to develop the management practices of his own work place and his/her own managerial skills and self-management. Student can explain theories of change management, trust and strategic leadership and plan and implement those in practice. Student understand concept and theory of remote work. She/he understands influence of leadership skills in occupational well-being at work and is able to develop it.

Organizational development, individuals and processes in the organization, organizational culture, organization management, leadership, decision making, strategic management, change management, trust in leadership, remote work, ethical behavior, managing occupational well-being, self-management.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree. The students know the basics of business activity.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

5 (Excellent): The student presents theory that is relevant and that has been delineated according to the topic and the phenomenon being discussed. This shows that the student is able to critically follow and analyse the development and international research in the field/the interfaces between different fields. Based on the theory, the student forms a synthesis that is illustrated . The concepts essential to the special expertise in the specific field are defined profoundly and consistently. The student leads a project (a research, development and innovation initiative) that produces and analyses new information and reforms the practices in complex and unpredictable operating environments, while combining the competences of various fields with the help of research and development methods. The student exhibits creative thinking. The student solves a challenging problem related to research and/or innovation that develops and adopts new information and methods from the perspective of various fields. The clear and illustrative results help develop the entire organisation and professional field. The reporting is consistent, justified and illustrative. The reporting is compelling and formidable and demonstrates the student's ability to think critically and communicate the results. The reporting also follows JAMK’s reporting instructions.

4 (Very good): The student presents theory that is relevant and delineated. This shows that the student is able to follow and analyse the development and international research in their field of expertise. The student is able to classify, compare and analyse theoretical information and concepts consistently. The student leads the development operation from planning to implementation and produces new information and/or applies new methods. The student solves a somewhat challenging problem related to research and/or innovation. The student demonstrates and justifies the usability of their results. The reporting is consistent, justified and illustrative and follows JAMK’s reporting instructions.

3 (Good): The student presents theory that is relevant and delineated. This shows that the student is able to follow and analyse the development and/or research in their field of expertise. The student can analyse and compare theoretical information and concepts. The student leads the development operation from planning to implementation and produces new information and/or applies new methods. The student develops the operations of the organisation by finding a solution to a significant problem. The student demonstrates and justifies the usability of their results. The reporting is consistent, justified and illustrative and follows the key points of JAMK’s reporting instructions.

2 (Satisfactory): The student presents theory that is mainly relevant and that has been delineated from the perspective of the topic/work role. The student defines the key concepts. The student leads the planning process and plans the development project. The student finds a useful partial solution to the problem. The reporting is illustrative and logical and follows JAMK’s reporting instructions partially.

1 (Adequate): The student summarises theory that is mainly relevant and that has been delineated from the perspective of the topic/work role. The student attempts to define the key concepts. The student leads the planning process and/or plans the development project. The student finds a partial solution to the problem, but the usability of the solution is not demonstrated. The reporting is illustrative, but contains some logical errors and deficiencies. The reporting follows JAMK’s reporting instructions partially.
