On completion of this module, students will:
• Understand how organizations and enterprises involved in the music and media industry interrelate, on a national and global level
• Have an appreciation for the various concerns and priorities for these different groups
• master the key specialist terms used by those involved in the music and media industries

Sisältö

The module will cover the following areas:
• The roles, aims and interrelated structures of various Music and Media Industry organisations, including record labels, music publishers, production companies, broadcasters, representative organisations, collection societies, artists and songwriters, and other associated parties
• The roles and structures of the various sectors and functions contained more broadly within the music and media industries, such as artist management, retail and distribution, agency, copyright control, publishing, production, the live performance industry, etc
• An examination of current issues relevant to the music and media industries.

The student displays a competent command of the subject area. Practical Skills: The student shows adequate but general ability to transform theory into applicable real-life situations.

Satisfactory (2)
Knowledge and Understanding: The student demonstrates his/her theoretical and conceptual knowledge at a reasonably clear level. Central concepts have been defined satisfactorily. The student has an obvious overall command of the subject area. Practical Skills:The student shows a basic ability to transform theory into applicable real-life situations.

Sufficient (1)
Knowledge and Understanding :The student attempts to demonstrate his/her theoretical and conceptual knowledge. However, command of the subject area remains unclear. Practical Skills:The student fails to show a convincing ability to transform theory into applicable real-life situations.
