Osaamistavoitteet

Students have a holistic picture of operations of supply chain management. The student can use logistics knowledge, manufacturing planning and control, operations analysis and some other knowledge to draw up a supply chain and analyse its operations and management. The student learns thoroughly the materials requirement planning and how it works in supply chains. Collaborative models are learned. The students have the knowledge and skills to plan, implement, control and manage logistics operations in an efficient and effective way. They have a wide understanding of logistics and supply chain management activities and methods to use in order to achieve organisational goals. The course will teach concepts and many different logistics practice models as well as production types, for which logistics is adapted. Student will learn these logistics and supply chain management models. Also supply chain management system have to be studied and analysed. Student will learn system analyses and analysing models. Also many previously learned models can be used in supply chain management. Altogether, suppy chain management deepen the logistics knowhow and supply chain management.
EUR-ACE Engineering Analysis – Different kinds of supply chain strategies will be discussed during the course. Students identify the most suitable strategy for certain situation and implement it.
EUR-ACE Engineering Practice – One part of the course is Supply Chain Game. Students manage one company’s (fictional) supply chain and try to balance between maximizing the profit and giving high level of customer service.
Logistics professional skills / Warehousing and materials management skill – The role of warehousing within the supply chain is discussed. Different types of distribution channels and distribution centers are presented. The importance of warehousing is highlighted by playing Supply Chain Game.
Logistics management skills – A company needs a network around it. Supply Chain Management –course emphasize the importance of collaboration and communication within the chain. Student group is multicultural and different types of cultural differences are discussed.
JAMK working life and communication skills: Students are able to work effectively as an individual and as a member of a team in the field of supply chain management. They also are able to use diverse methods to communicate and work in different types of business relationships. Students will be able to develop the organization’s business and operations through developing the better supply chain management.
