Osaamistavoitteet
The students get practice in the basic nursing interventions and monitoring and maintenance of vital functions. They can apply basic aseptic methods to nursing practice. They master basic mathematics and can correctly perform drug calculations. The students operate according to the values and principles of patient/client-oriented nursing and are able to encounter different patients/clients professionally. They are able to get practice in assessing the health and functional ability of a patient/client under supervision. They are able to define factors that influence health and well-being and understand their significance at the level of the individual, the family and society. They can recognize the significance of promoting the health of the patient. They can identify the patient’s needs for nursing care and respond to them professionally. The students can promote the health and functional ability of the older client. They get to know the practice in empowerment-based counseling related to patients’/clients’ daily activities. The students can prepare personal health and well-being promotion plans for themselves and draw on this knowledge to guide others. The students implement safe medication practices in practical placement under supervision. They can use of assisting technology in promoting the health of the customer/patient

Pass (S): The student is able to utilize basic helping methods in nursing practice with adequate knowledge of vital functions, aseptic behavior, ergonomics and medical treatment. The student has the basic knowledge of the special characteristics, health and ability to function and promoting the health and ability to function of the customer/patient of nursing practice. The student acts according to the values and principles of nursing. The student is familiar with the central principles of professional interaction. The student knows the basic principles of resource-oriented guidance of the customer's/patients daily routines. The student can identify factors that affect their own well-being and health, and those of their client, and can recognize means to promote them. The student is familiar with the service and support systems in their own field. The student can demonstrate the use of assistive technology in promoting the health of the customer/patient
