Osaamistavoitteet

The student is able to understand cultural, political, economic and educational factors affecting cultural competent care.The student recognises different types of disasters and public health emergencies.S/he is aware of the basics of disaster management.
S/he is able to describe crucial elements of effective care under unusual conditions. S/he understands the importance of different actors in responding appropriately to different kinds of crisis situations.In planning of culturally sensitive health promotion for different target groups, the student is able to compare and utilize international, national and organisational health promotion strategies. S/he identifies the planning process of health promotion and is able to plan culturally sensitive health promotion interventions for different target groups.The student develops an individual outlook on entrepreneurship. The student develops the core competences needed for entrepreneurial self-management and inner entrepreneurial spirit.

Culturally competent care, different types of disasters and public health emergencies, disaster caused illnesses,health impact assessment, disaster management, effective care under disaster conditions, public health in unusual conditions, coping with traumatic events, the role of different actors in humanitarian aid,international, national health promotion strategies, health promotion planning process for groups.

Esitietovaatimukset

The student masters the contents of Basics of nursing, Health promotion and nursing in public health problems, Family nursing and acute and perioperative nursing. Additionally, s/he has passed the drug calculation exam of earlier areas of competence.

Excellent (5 ) The student has mastered an advanced knowledge base and acquired a deep understanding of different types of disasters and disaster management. The student demonstrates innovative skills in decision-making in disaster nursing. He/she demonstrates excellent competence in planning culturally sensitive health promotion. He/she is able to analyze his/her skills in disaster nursing and health promotion in a comprehensive and critical, manner. The student demonstrates an outstandingly responsible and innovative attitude in completing assignments/projects. He/she demonstrates a mature attitude towards the agreed principles of the team. He/she possesses excellent communication skills in his/her professional field. The student shows an excellent understanding of entrepreneurial principles.
Very good (4): The student has mastered an advanced knowledge base and acquired an understanding of different types of disasters and disaster management. He/she is able to plan and critically analyze culturally sensitive health promotion. The student is able to use information and communication technology in acquiring and producing information creatively. He/she presents information in communication situations with excellent structure. The student demonstrates responsible attitude in completing assignments/projects. He/she possesses good communication skills in his/her professional field. The student shows good understanding of entrepreneurial principles.
Good (3): The student has comprehensively mastered the theoretical framework of disasters and disaster management. He/she is able to plan and analyze culturally sensitive health promotion. He/she shows initiative and a critical attitude in acquiring information. He/she is able to share information he/she has acquired through various means, justify it critically, use and present information in interactive situations of a team in a structured and instructive manner. The student demonstrates greater responsibility in completing professional assignments/projects. He/she has communication skills in his/her own professional field. The student understands entrepreneurial principles.
Satisfactory (2): The student has mastered the theoretical framework of different types of disasters and the basics of disaster management. He/she is able to plan culturally sensitive health promotion. He/she is able to individually acquire evidence-based information on disasters and disaster management. The student is able to use information and communication technology to acquire, edit and produce information and to communicate it to other members of the team. The student demonstrates a responsible attitude in completing professional assignments/projects. He/she has basic communication skills in his/her professional field.
Adequate (1): The student has mastered the theoretical framework of different types of disasters and the basics of disaster management on a minimum level. The student has limited decision-making skills in disaster nursing and competence in planning culturally sensitive health promotionHe/she has basic communication skills in his/her professional field. The student understands the basic principles of entrepreneurship.
Fail (0): The student has limited knowledge of decision-making in disaster nursing. He/she only has superficial knowledge of planning culturally sensitive health promotion. The student does not demonstrate an ability to assume his/her share of responsibility for professional assignments and projects.
