Osaamistavoitteet
The students know the basics and approaches of surgical, perioperative and gynaecological nursing. They master aseptics in surgical, perioperative and gynaecological nursing. They master pharmacotherapy, pain management and drip infusion in the competence area. They master the central test methods and nursing intervention and the appropriate and safe use of necessary instruments and devices. They provide guidance and support to patients/clients, using a rehabilitative approach to promote and recover their resources. They use viable guidance materials and know the tools of multi-method patient guidance.

Excellent (5): The student has advanced knowledge in developing the operative and gynaecological nursing practice and a critical understanding of the operating principles of the field. He/she is able to assess this information critically and demonstrates creative thinking. The student is able to draw on the skills he/she has acquired and demonstrated to instructively solve problems in operative and gynaecological nursing practice. The student is able to assess his/her competence and to acquire skills critically and instructively and to improve them further. Very good (4): The student is able to apply the latest evidence-based national and international information acquired by him/her in a versatile manner in the learning assignments and their cooperative and individual completion. The student is able to act skilfully and take cultural differences into consideration, also in multicultural teams. Good (3): The student has comprehensively mastered the knowledge of operative and gynaecological nursing practice. He/she shows initiative and acts independently in acquiring information and assesses it critically. The student is familiar with the evidence-based knowledge base of the course/competence area and is able to draw on it to independently complete various learning assignments. The student is able to critically justify the information used by him/her. Satisfactory (2): The student is able to adapt his actions to changing challenges of the operating environment. The student also has skills to act in unexpected situations in his/her field. Adequate (1): The student masters the basic knowledge of operative and gynaecological nursing practice. The student draws on the most central information sources of the course and is able to assess the information he/she uses. Fail (0): The student has not mastered the basic knowledge of operative and gynaecological nursing practice.
