Osaamistavoitteet

The students know the structure and operation of the human locomotors system and the circulatory and respiratory systems. They have a basic knowledge of the causes of illnesses, their development mechanisms, structural changes caused by them, and other central concepts and phenomena of diagnostics and care. Students know the basics of medication and understand the ethical and juridical responsibility of nurse in medical treatment. They master basic mathematics and can correctly perform drug calculations. their readiness develop in the prevention of the spreading of infections, particularly hospital infections, through clinical familiarization with the main microbes, the birth mechanisms of the infectious diseases caused by them, and with the defense mechanisms of the system. They know the basics of aseptic methods.

Arviointikriteerit, tyydyttävä (1)

Excellent (5): The student is able to apply the skills he/she has acquired and demonstrated to innovatively solve problems. The student is able to draw on his/her wide-ranging clinical knowledge base in a versatile manner in assignments. He/she is motivated to independently acquire information and to make critical use of it.
Very good (4): The student is able to examine his/her knowledge base in a versatile manner, giving justifications and from various perspectives. The student is able to apply his/her knowledge to implementing medical treatment in clinical nursing practice and is motivated in this.
Good (3): The student is understands the structure and functioning of the human musculoskeletal, circulatory and respiratory system and is able to draw on the knowledge he/she has learnt. He/she has mastered the basics of medical treatment and aseptic principles and is partly able to draw on the knowledge he/she has learnt. The student masters the principles of microbiology and preventing the spread of infections and the defense mechanisms of the body, and he/she understands their significance in nursing practice.
Satisfactory (2): The student is familiar with the structure and functioning of the human musculoskeletal, circulatory and respiratory system. He/she is familiar with pathology, medical treatment, pharmaceutical calculation, basics of aseptic techniques, microbiology and basics of preventing the spread of infections as well as the defense mechanisms of the body.
Adequate (1): The student is uncertain about the skills he/she is developing during the course. He/she is partly able to adapt his actions to changing challenges of the assignment and the operating environment. Coping with assignments that require application of knowledge is a challenge to the student. The student understands nurse's ethical, judicial and aseptic responsibilities in medical treatment. The student has mastered basic mathematics and is able to perform pharmaceutical calculations correctly.
Fail (0): The student does not have the basic knowledge of his/her field, nor does he/she have the skills to solve problems encountered in the field, especially in unexpected situations. The student does not demonstrate an ability to assume his/her share of responsibility for professional assignments and projects.
