Osaamistavoitteet
The students know the national and international programmes and recommendations governing health promotion, their focal areas, health promotion settings, strategies and levels. They can identify the implementers and service providers of health promotion. They understand the significance of preventive work and lifestyle counselling for the prevention of national diseases. They can plan, implement and evaluate the health education of individuals based on empowerment. They understand, in particular, the significance of nutrition and health-promoting physical activity, as well as related counseling, for health promotion.

Pass (S): The student is familiar with the national knowledge base of health promotion and is able to draw on it to independently complete various learning assignments. He/she recognizes factors for inequalities in population health and measures for reducing health inequalities. He/she shows initiative in acquiring evidence-based information on health promotion and assesses it critically. He/she is able to use and present information in communication and interactive situations of his/her team clearly and in a structured, instructive and constructive manner. The student is able to solve problems in health promotion, and he/she is able to draw on them in new situations. The student demonstrate how his/her skills that are improving during the course are linked to the competence requirements of nursing, and he/she is able to perceive how he/she should develop his/her health promotion skills from the perspective of nursing practice development in the future. The student assumes responsibility for essential health promotion assignments and projects of his/her team and shows initiative.
Fail (0) : The student does not have the basic knowledge of health promotion. He/she is not competent in independent information acquisition, as well as learning and developing his/her learning techniques. The student finds coping with more demanding preventive nursing practice assignments a challenge. The student does not act responsibility for health promotion assignments and projects assigned to him/her . The student fails to complete health promotion project.
