Objective

Student demonstrates understanding of cultural effects on individuals, families and communities in their every day life, communication and health beliefs and values. Student is able to plan the nursing care of patients from different cultural backgrounds in ethical and culturally sensitive manner.
Student recognizes the global environmental risks for health and well being.
Student knows the most common tropical diseases and basics of their nursing and medical care. Student is able to assess the global impact of tropical diseases on health and well being using evidence based information.

Qualifications

Student is familiar with different human perceptions and values of social- and health care as well as professional ethical principles. Student is able to find and make use of scientific and evidence-based information in decision-making in nursing and understands the basic principles and concepts of nursing.

Outstanding (5 )
The student demonstrates understanding cultural effects on people and is able to apply the understanding in planning nursing care of patients from different cultural backgrounds in ethical and culturally competent manner.
Student recognizes global environmental risks for health and well being and critically analyzes their impact globally and locally using evidence based comprehensive knowledge. Student knows the most common tropical diseases and basics of their nursing and medical care and is able to apply the knowledge according to the nursing process. Student is able to critically assess the global impact of tropical diseases on health and well being using evidence based information.

Excellent (4)
The student demonstrates understanding cultural effects on people and is able to apply the understanding in planning nursing care of patients from different cultural backgrounds in ethical and culturally competent manner.
Student recognizes global environmental risks for health and well being and analyzes their impact globally and locally using evidence based knowledge. Student knows the most common tropical diseases and basics of their nursing and medical care and is able to apply the knowledge according to the nursing process.
