Objective

Upon completion of this course a student will be able to
- employ theoretical and conceptual knowledge to identify and analyse business problems in global context (KU1)
- apply proven theoretical and conceptual knowledge of global business challenges in multicultural context. (PS1)

Content

The student acquires an overview of export business practices from the European Union perspective. The student knows the basics of transportation, delivery terms, international trade agreements, customs procedures and their documentation as well as international payment transactions. The student is able to communicate the concepts of these procedures and is able to apply acquired knowledge to real-life situations.

Qualifications

Completed basic business and management studies.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Excellent (5) Knowledge and Understanding: The student demonstrates his/her theoretical and conceptual knowledge in detail. Central concepts have been defined with precision. The student displays a clear command of the subject area. 
Practical skills: The student possesses advanced skills in international business practices. He/she is able to independently collect, combine and apply information in order to analytically study different courses of action in order to make credible decisions related to export procedures, international contracts and payment transactions. The student displays excellent problem solving and decision-making skills. The student demonstrates the ability to apply acquired knowledge to real-life situations with superior communications skills. 

Very good (4) Knowledge and Understanding: The student demonstrates solid and right theoretical and conceptual knowledge. Central concepts have been defined with accuracy. The student displays a good command of the subject area. 
Practical skills: The student possesses very good skills in international business practices. He/she is able to collect, combine and apply information in order to analytically study different courses of action in order to make decisions related to export procedures, international contracts and payment transactions. The student displays good problem solving and decision-making skills. The student demonstrates the ability to apply acquired knowledge to real-life situations with good communications skills. 

Good (3) Knowledge and Understanding: The student knows the theoretical and conceptual frameworks related to international business practices.
Central concepts have been defined well. The student displays a fairly good command of the subject area. 
Practical skills: With some assistance he/she is able to collect, combine and apply information in order to analytically study different courses of action in order to make decisions related to export procedures, international contracts and payment transactions. The student displays fairly good problem solving and decision-making skills. The student demonstrates the ability to apply acquired knowledge to real-life situations with fair communications skills. 
 
Satisfactory (2) Knowledge and Understanding: The student is able to give some evidence on his/her theoretical and conceptual knowledge. Central concepts have been defined but vaguely. The student displays only superficial knowledge of the subject area. 
Practical skills: To some extent he/she is able to collect, combine and apply information in order to analytically study different courses of action in order to make decisions related to export procedures, international contracts and payment transactions. The student displays some problem solving and decision-making skills. The student is able to present the results but the conclusions are incomplete. 



Sufficient (1) Knowledge and Understanding: The student is able to demonstrate the basic theoretical and conceptual knowledge. Central concepts have are defined fairly clearly. The student is able demonstrate command of the key concepts of subject area. 
Practical skills: The student knows the basic business practices but he/she great difficulties to apply the knowledge to real-life situations or to communicate the concepts in an effective manner. 

Failed (0) Knowledge and Understanding: The student fails in the attempt of demonstrating theoretical and conceptual knowledge in a clear manner. Central concepts have been defined only partially. The student is not able to display any basic understanding of the subject area.
Practical Skills: The student fails in applying knowledge of business practices to real-life situations or to communicate the concepts in an understandable manner.
