Osaamistavoitteet

The student acquires an overview of internationalization of firms, globalization, theories of international trade, entry strategies and global marketing programs and their implementation. The student knows the basic theories, models and concepts of international trade, entry strategies and global marketing programs. The student understands the social, cultural, political, institutional, behavioral, economic, and competitive conditions that conduct of foreign and international marketing from domestic marketing. The student is able to communicate the concepts of international trade, entry strategies and global marketing programs. The student is able to apply the theories in to the real-life situations.

Globalization and its effect on business, political economy in international trade and regional economic integration. Modes and motives of internationalization, target country selection, modes of entry, and marketing programs in the international context.

1= The student knows the basics of the global marketing environment but he/she fails to apply the knowledge to real-life situations or to communicate the concepts in an effective manner. He/she is able to make simple decisions based partly on goal formulation.
2= The student knows the basics of the global marketing environment and is familiar with the basic concepts. He/she is able to apply the knowledge to real-life situations to some extent. The student is able to present the results but the conclusions are incomplete. He/she is able to make simple decisions based partly on goal formulation.
3= The student knows the concepts of the global marketing environment comprehensively and is familiar with all the basic theories. He/she is able to apply the knowledge to real-life situations and is able to present the results in an effective way. The student is able to solve decision problems by utilizing theoretical background and literature and displays problem solving and decision making skills.
4= The student applies the global marketing environment related concepts effectively. He/she is able to independently collect, apply and deliver information from versatile sources and is able to make a synthesis of theory. The student is able to solve decision problems by utilizing theoretical background and literature to the pragmatic situation and displays good problem solving and decision making skills which are based on clear goal formulation.
5= The student possesses advanced skills in global marketing environment related theories and concepts. He/she is able to collect, combine and apply information in order to analytically study different courses of action to solve decision making problems and displays excellent problem solving and decision making skills. The student is able to make credible marketing decisions based on clear and thoroughly justified goal formulation and comprehensive situation analytics. The student demonstrates the ability to apply the material to real-life situations and challenges with superior communications skills.
