Objective

The students understand the basic calculation of coupled three-phase circuits, and they know the various power concepts. They understand the effect of reactive power and harmonics on an electric power system. They know how to measure the basic quantities of an electric power system. They also know the measurements related to the quality of supply. They have a basic understanding of the various areas of electrical power engineering.

• electrostatics and current flow
• compensation
•measurement of current, voltage and power in an electric power system, energy measurement
measurements related to the quality of supply
•electromechanics: electric machines and transformers
• power plant and lighting engineering
• electric drives and power electronics
•power generation plants at a general level

Qualifications

Basic electrical engineering skills

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Very good (4-5): The student has acquired the knowledge and skills covered by the course and can independently apply them to practice.
Good (3): The student masters well some learning objectives of the course and can apply them to practice.
Satisfactory (1-2): The student has the basic knowledge of different fields of electrical engineering.

Assessment is based on the exam, seminar work, laboratory work and calculation exercises.
