Objective

The students understand the basic concepts of integral transformation and the utilization of the transformation operation for the modelling of physical systems, for analyses and control algorithms, as well as for the tuning of control circuits.
They understand the concepts of probability and sporadic phenomenon, and their modelling using distributions.

Content

Continuous and discrete system, Laplace transformation, solving differential equations with Laplace transformation, transfer function, Z-transformation and difference equations, Fourier series, spectrum.
Definition of probability, combinatorics, conditional probability and independence. Continuous and discrete distribution generally, and some essential special distributions

Qualifications

Basic knowledge of algebra and analysis, derivative and integral, the concept of differential equation

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

excellent (5) A clear overall picture of the topic and ability to apply knowledge independently
good (3-4) Good mastery of the subentities
satisfactory (1-2) Rather poor mastery of the subentities, a fractured picture of the topic
fail (0) The student does not master the topic area
