Objective

The student knows what social rehabilitation means
The student is able to assess the service need and to support involvement in the multidisciplinary co-operation of mental health and substance abuse work and in the personal networks, especially with family

The student understands the client’s interests and rights as the starting point for the implementation and development of mental health and substance abuse work

The student is able to plan and organise service entities according to client needs in multidisciplinary co-operation

The student is able to act as the case worker in mental health and substance abuse work

Content

Different meanings of social rehabilitation in different environments
The goals, principles and methods of social rehabilitation
Rehabilitation counselling and guidance as well as the coordination of the needed services
Autonomy issues in mental health and substance abuse work

• Excellent (5)The student can comprehensively define and explain what is meant by social rehabilitation from different perspectives and in different operating environments, especially from the perspective of mental health and substance abuse work.
He/she can specify the objectives and role of social rehabilitation as an everyday work approach and as a multidisciplinary service from a social perspective.
The student can explain how social occupational capacity and the need for rehabilitation and services are assessed in mental health and substance abuse work. He/she can assess the problematics involved and develop different client-oriented solutions.
The student recognises the ethical and legal problematics in mental health and substance abuse work from the perspective of operating practices as well as from a social perspective and can propose solutions for them, especially from the perspective of clients and their families.
The student can design and construct the position of a personal/case worker and his/her own role as an employee in social rehabilitation.
The reporting of the written assignments is compelling and formidable and illustrates acquired competence well.
