Osaamistavoitteet
The students have an broad understanding of the ways of action in her practical training placement and the central characteristics of an occupational therapist’s work. The students know the potentials of network-oriented work. The students know the different forms of communication and the principles of teamwork in an occupational therapist’s work. They know the responsibility of the work they do.
The students have an broad understanding of how physical, social and cultural environments enable and restrict the participation of an individual they have met. The students can apply the model of human operation to a client situation and create therapeutic interaction. The students understand entrepreneurship as one possibility to produce occupational therapeutic services.

The students have first aid skills. They know the main concepts and job description of an occupational therapist.

In order to pass this course acceptably:
The student is familiar with the operating methods of his/her training unit and the occupational therapist's work area in it. He/she is able to act following the principles of network-oriented work in the training unit. He/she is able to function in typical communication situations of the field and understands the principles of team work and internal entrepreneurship in the work of an occupational therapist. The student assumes responsibility for his/her own activities and is able to act independently in observance of working life rules and operating principles.
The student is able to assess the way in which the physical, social and cultural environment facilitates or restricts the clients he/she encounters in participating in occupation. He/she is able to apply the Model of Human Occupation to the client's situation and establish a reciprocal and interactive therapeutic relationship with the client. The student is able to analyse occupation and use this information when selecting therapeutic activities and acting in client situations.
The student understands entrepreneurship as a possibility of producing occupational therapy services and familiarises him/her with entrepreneurial work approaches.
In the assessment of written assignments, the assessment criteria for written assignments will apply.
