Osaamistavoitteet

The students master the basic concepts, value bases and targets of pedagogy, early childhood education and special education. The students are familiar with the legislation and documents controlling early childhood education and the work with the people with special needs and they know the services aimed at the clients. They recognize individual needs for support and they know different support possibilities in everyday growth and learning environments.

Sisältö

Pedagogy and early childhood education:
Basic concepts, values and ethicality of pedagogy and early childhood education, formal and informal growth and learning environments, documents controlling early childhood education, legislation, early childhood education services.
Special education:
Different interpretation models of disability, value bases for special education, individual support needs and the related services and support forms of special education as well as the related legislation.

Excellent - Very Good (5-4): the students participate in contact lessons and the conversations in virtual environment and they have completed the agreed assignments. They show in their written assignments excellent capabilities to describe the values and the professional ethical principles of the field of social care and they are able to consider them critically. The students understand holistically the needs and empowerment of different clients in their growth and learning environments. They pass the exam with a good or excellent mark. The students follow the instructions for written work of Jyväskylä University of Applied Sciences.
Good (3): the students have participated in the contact lessons and conversation in virtual environment and they have completed the agreed assignments. They show in their written assignments good capabilities to describe the values and the professional ethical principles of the field of social care and they are able to consider them. The students understand the needs and empowerment of different clients in their growth and learning environments. They pass the exam with a good mark. The students follow approximately the instructions for written work of Jyväskylä University of Applied Sciences.
Satisfactory (2-1): the students have participated partly in contact lessons and only a little or not at all in conversation in virtual environment. The students have completed the agreed assignments satisfactorily. In their written assignments they describe only a little the values and professional ethical principles of the field of social care and they do not much consider them. The students have nor formed a clear idea of the needs and empowerment of different clients in their growth and learning environments. The students pass the exam with a satisfactory mark. The students follow only partly the instructions for written work of Jyväskylä University of Applied Sciences.
