Osaamistavoitteet

The student
* identifies and understands the effects of internationalisation on the market and the position of the consumer and knows how to evaluate and compare the opportunities for consumption in different parts
* knows the objectives and methods of consumer policy and the duties of the network of authorities and volunteers and knows how to best utilise the expertise of the network in their own field
*recognises the consumer viewpoint and the aspect of responsible business in the operations of companies and organisations and analyses the activities from the viewpoint of the sector
* is familiar with the development of the international consumer movement and understands its significance
* is familiar with central features of the social security system in Finland and in the EU and knows how to seek further information in appropriate sources

For the general assessment criteria of the competence generated by the Bachelor of Hospitality Management degree, please see the website of JAMK University of Applied Sciences (www.jamk.fi/english/forstudents/studyguide). The learning outcomes of a course will be assessed in accordance with its learning objectives on the basis of the skills and knowledge and general competences specified in The National and European Quality Management Systems (NQF/EQF, level 6). The student dispays a level of knowledge described in the course objective in the exam and through versatile learning assignments.In addition to the core competence required for grades 1 and 2
the student identifies the effects of globalization and the changes of consumers position in the market. He understands the methods of consumer policy, international consumer movements and social security system in EU.In addition to the core competence required for grades 3 and 4 the student is able to analyse the effects of globalization and consumer policy. He is able to apply the knowledge for chosen case.In addition to the core competence required for grade 5 the student shows developing and critical skills in his work. Unless otherwise specified in the curriculum, successfully completed courses will be assessed using a five-point scale: 5 (Excellent), 4 (Very Good), 3 (Good), 2 (Satisfactory), and 1 (Sufficient). A course will be graded as a 0 (Fail) if the student is unable to achieve the minimum objectives of the course.
In special cases, a course may be graded as an S (Pass) or a 0 (Fail).
