Objective

The students
• know the principl solution and resource focused work in professional networks
• are able to apply dialogue skills and network methods in social counseling, and in multi-professional cooperation

Content

• The theoretical basis of solution-focused approach and network methods.
• Solution-focused and network methods in practice
• The implementation of solution-focused and network methods in social counseling

Qualifications

The students know the basics of the Finnish social security system and social services. The students understand the needs of different client groups. They know the basics of professional communication skills as well as the principles of dialogue skills.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Excellent (5) The students are
• able to define, analyze, and compare the main principles of solution focused and resource oriented work, as well as network orientations
• able to present the main methods of solution focused and resource oriented work, as well as network orientations
• able to utilize and apply the principles and methods of solution focused and resource oriented work, as well as network orientations in social services
• able to assess the usability, as well as suitability of those methods in social work
• able to innovate new methodological applications to the client work.

Very good (4) The students are
