Objective

The students build a central knowledge base needed in gynaecological nursing, based on evidence-based knowledge. They identify specific questions related to female health and are able to counsel women in an empowering way. The students are able to encounter and consider ethical questions related to gynaecological nursing. They are able to encounter and support clients in questions related to sexuality as a part of holistic midwifery. They know sexual disorders, recognise them and can guide the client on the first two levels of the Plissit model. The students know the means by which the reproductive health of an individual/family/community is promoted. They get personal experience of entrepreneurial activities and the interaction and networking skills required by collaborative entrepreneurship.

Content

The planning, implementation and evaluation of the care and counselling of a gynaecological patient. The couple relationship. Sexual functional disorders and their treatment. Sexual anamnesis. The Plissit model. Family planning.

Qualifications

The professional studies of the Degree Programme in Nursing 114 cr.
