Objective

In this course ypu will learn industrial processes consist of basic processes. You will understand how those basic processes utilize different energies and forces. We will discuss also enviromental impacts of industrial production methods.

You will learn to apply thermodynamics- ja mechanical-, heat- and transfer technics to basic processes. After course you are familiar with process materials, feature of material and corrosion and erosion of the materials.
You will understand importance of the documentation for process design.
You will understand basic of the control and measure the process.
You take into account energy efficiency when developt new processes
After course you are next level to start studying professional cources.

EA-KW KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
Knowledge and understanding of engineering disciplines underlying their specialisation, at a level necessary to achieve the other programme outcomes, including some awareness at their forefront

EA-EC ENGINEERING PRACTICE
Ability to use the awareness of the forefront of their engineering specialisation in design and development. Ability to apply norms of engineering practice in their engineering specialisation.

EUR-MC MULTIDISCIPLINARY COMPETENCES
Awareness of the wider multidisciplinary context of engineering. Awareness of societal, health and safety, environmental, economic and industrial implications of engineering practice and recognition of the constraints that they pose.

Content

Introduction to process technics, basic for the energy, phases of the matter and balance thinking in processes. Mechanical basic operations, heat transfer technisc, material transfer, chemical basic processes. Industry and enviroment; basics. Basic of the process design. The most common documents of the process design.
Corrosion and erosion. Materials of the process technics; Steel, cast iron, aluminium, other metals, plastic, rubber, ceramic and composites. Basic of the process automation, measuring and control.
