- has the technical and interpretive musical skills needed to perform music and form an independent artistic vision
- knows the core repertoire of his/her main instrument and masters the different genres and performance practices of music
- is able to utilize his/her musical professional skills in various tasks, performance situations and ensembles
- perceives musical phenomena aurally, produces musical phenomena bodily or with the help of a musical instrument, and is able to translate aural perception into notated music
- reads, analyzes, and understands written music.

The student
- is able to create new musical content by composing, songwriting, arranging or improvising according to the chosen or given style, taking into account the characteristics of the instruments
- is able to accompany himself/herself or others by disengaging from musical notation, if necessary.

The student
- is familiar with the possibilities offered by technology in teaching, writing, recording, editing, and sharing music – online and in front of a live audience
- has the ability to follow the progress of digitalization.

The student
- is familiar with the main teaching methods and learning materials of individual and group instruction, and is able to appropriately select, utilize and develop them
- is able to plan, implement and evaluate music learning situations
- is able to guide and support the learning of diverse learners in different learning environments
- is acquainted with the basics of the teacher's professional skills as well as teaching and the teaching profession in a social, philosophical and psychological frame of reference
- is able to maintain and develop his/her own teaching skills, e.g. through research.

The student
- understands the basic principles of project management and is able to apply them in practice, e.g. in the production of a concert, an event or study material
- is able to cooperate and interact productively with different actors, fields or art forms
- is familiar with the copyright legislation and contractual practices concerning productions within the industry
- perceives the commercial potential of his/her own competence, and is able to communicate his/her own competence and sell it
- is able to plan his/her projects and other work to be profitable, evaluate his/her own actions, and manage the necessary paperwork appropriately.
