Musical Techniques 1 (5cr)

Objective

The students can write unison and polyphonic texture to Gregorian and Classical styles, both homophonically and contrapuntally.

Content

Content structures of western music; the main tools being counterpoint and harmonization complementing melodics.

Qualifications

The students master the basic concepts of harmony and melody in western music, as well as the basics of voice transfer. A successfully passed level test or equivalent optional basic studies.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)
