Elements of Conducting (5cr)

Objective

The students are familiar with the fundamentals of conducting; with conducting's diverse areas. They are able to work with students of different ages and from different cultural backgrounds. They can conduct ensembles, student orchestras and choirs.

Ergonomic conducting technique
voice cueing knowledge and skills
open score analysis and playing
Group command
Verbal communication
familiarity with use of voice
familiarity with transposing instruments' ranges
Initial familiarity with orchestra and choir main repertoires

Acceptable solfege and theory skills

Grade scale 1 - 5
Basic ability (1,2)
Commands the basic concepts of development of own area
Unexpected problem solving skills in onw field
Ability to assume responsibility for own tasks and projects
