Objective
The students know the most common refined liquid biofuels and their production and use potential, especially in the rural environment. They are able to produce biodiesel from the seeds of oil plants, assess the width of the cultivated area required by liquid biofuel production, and assess the preconditions for production in the Finnish climate. The students know the basics of biogas production, the biogas production potential of different biomasses, and the technologies used in biogas exploitation, especially in a rural environment.
