Objective

The student is able to plan and implement innovative, interesting and correct bus tours and walks. He/she has wide range of knowledge about the destination (Finland and Central-Finland). He/she knows the main principles and terms of tourism industry and Guide organisations. The student identifies the facts, restrictions and possibilities in the destination. He/she is able to evaluate the risks and knows how to act in case of emergency. He/she understands the meaning of communication and meaningful experiences.

Qualifications

The student understands the concepts related to service operations and has basic customer competence. The student understands how the tourism industry has developed and what it comprises in Finland and abroad. The student understands the general concepts and phenomena related to tourism as well as the principles of sustainable tourism. He/she understands the operating logic of tourism service chains and the significance of the integrity of those chains to the customer.
