Osaamistavoitteet
Upon completion of the course, students will be able to:
 •	Identify the various trends related to consumers, resources, and the business environment of tourism and hospitality businesses
 •	Review relevant case studies and examples from the tourism and hospitality industries
 •	Identify new business opportunities for tourism and hospitality businesses based on the identified trends
 •	Recommend tourism and hospitality products and services which are innovative, sustainable, and future-oriented in respond to the identified trends
 Students will be able to acquire the following competences upon completion of the course:
 •	Professional skills and knowledge relevant to tourism and hospitality industries
 •	Critical thinker
 •	Effective communicator
 •	Innovative problem solver

Sisältö
This course involves an examination of a wide range of recent developments, current issues, and future trends in the tourism and hospitality industries worldwide.     Students will learn how to identify and assess issues and trends which impact tourism and hospitality industries.  Relevant case studies and examples from the tourism and hospitality industries, particularly from Asia, will be used to illustrate and examine the issues and trends and how the destinations, tourism businesses, government agencies, etc are responding to those trends.
