Chemistry (3cr)

Objective

The students are familiar with the structure of atoms and matter, moles, concentration, combustion and energy production by combustion. They know the structure of electrical cells and batteries, power production and saving by electrical cells, as well as the structure and characteristics of the most common plastics. They understand the danger of hazardous materials and are able to handle hazards professionally.

Content

The structure of material, bonds, mole, concentration, chemical reactions, combustion and energy production, oxidation, electrical chemistry, batteries, acids and bases, pH, hazardous materials, organic chemistry, fuels, plastics.

Qualifications

The students must have a basic knowledge of chemistry: the structure of atom, mole, the periodic table.

Points from a theory test, laboratory reports and home calculations.
