Deepening clinical training (20cr)

Objective

You can apply critical thinking skills and make evidence-based decisions as a nursing professional in assessing the client`s need of care, implementing nursing interventions and in patient education.
You know how to participate in multidisciplinary teams representing nursing care and share your expertise in adequate Finnish.
You demonstrate you understand and can apply ethical principles in nursing and ensure patient safety in the care plans, implementations and documentation in adequate Finnish.
You can find, assess, and apply different evidence-based methods for best outcomes for the client’s, family’s and communitys’ wellbeing in a culturally sensitive manner.
You master medical calculations.

Qualifications

You master the principles of client-and family centered care, main concepts and methods in social and healthcare environment, being familiar with the aims and nursing interventions that promote client’s health and functioning.
You can utilize evidence-based knowledge in nursing decision making and nursing interventions in English and key parts in Finnish.
You are familiar with clinical examination of a patient and can assess the need for nursing care.

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

You demonstrate you can apply critical thinking skills and make independent and evidence-based decisions as a nursing professional in assessing the client’s need of care, implementing nursing interventions and in patient education.
You can discuss nursing care in multidisciplinary teams in adequate Finnish.
You demonstrate you can apply ethical principles in nursing and ensure patient safety in the care plans, implementations and documentation in adequate Finnish.
You find, assess critically, and apply evidence-based methods in a culturally sensitive manner.
