Objective

The programme aims at training both the students and graduates of Jyväskylä University of Applied Sciences for key positions in companies and for business ownership. Other owners of companies planning a change of ownership and their potential successors can also participate in the programme.

Content

Implementation of business takeover
- Implementing a basic analysis on the company together with the former owner and planning the change of ownership
- Creating a company development programme together with the entrepreneur: implementing a Due Diligence based on development
- Implementing company acquisition negotiations and detailing ownership transfer
- Adopting the tacit business knowledge of the former owner and cooperation with the acquirer
- Starting business acquisition and transfer of know-how and leadership
Peer learning and exchange of experiences
- Experiences of generational and ownership change: successes and failures; needs for development and after-care
In addition to contact class study, the companies to be acquired or participants’ own companies are used as development targets.

Qualifications

Reasonable amount of earlier business studies are recommendable

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Tutor’s assessment, company analyses, the plan on company takeover/continuation, peer assessment, and active participation.
