Objective

The students have a readiness for spontaneous interaction in English at the workplace and in everyday life in general. They understand verbal interaction as an extensive, culturally bound entity of speech communication. They are aware of the basics of non-verbal communication and have been personally acquainted with it. They are able to apply their existing language skills in their own life creatively, appropriate to the situation.

Content

Acting in different interactive situations, e.g. job interviews, small talk, negotiations, debates, and discussing one’s own field.
Further contents include improvisation, constructive interaction, encountering diverse cultures, non-verbal communication in interaction. Cooperation skills in English-speaking environments of everyday and working life.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The students demonstrate their knowledge and skills related to interaction, as well as their development in these areas, through participation in course exercises. The verbal course assignment also affects the grade.
