Objective
I understand the physiological functions and behavior of the calf. I define calf care processes and their impact on animal welfare.
Content
Calf physiology and development into a ruminant. Calf feeding and care. Housing conditions and facilities for calves. Calf behavior and health care.
Qualifications
Student is familiar with the high school level biology studies or has secondary school competences. Student is familiar with the typical cattle management practices in Finland.
