Objective

The purpose of the course is to strengthen the student's professional competence, research and development competence, as well as skills in critical argumentation and knowledge formation, which have the potential to influence the development of the field. The student will be able to - identify, assess and justify research and development needs from various perspectives - critically evaluate and utilise national and international research data and materials in the development of working life, as well as in research, development and innovation activities - understand methods suitable for research and development projects in their field, and select qualitative, quantitative or developmental methods appropriate to the objectives of the research and development project - apply these methods appropriately - adhere to the principles of good scientific practice, master data protection and research ethics, and apply the principles of open science and research in their research and development activities - assess the reliability of research and development projects appropriately - master communication in research and development activities - act proactively and responsibly in multidisciplinary development networks and implement various development projects in working life.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The student is able to identify and describe the needs and phases of research and development work within their field. The student is capable of utilising information essential for development activities in development processes. The student possesses the competence to use and apply key concepts and methods relevant to research and development activities in their field. They are able to identify and take into account issues related to data protection and research ethics. They are able to communicate and report on research and development work. The student is able, in collaboration with others, to implement research and development projects that advance working life.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

The student is capable of analysing and justifying the needs and stages of research and development work in their field. The student compares, analyses, and utilises essential information for the purpose of development activities in an appropriate manner. They are highly proficient in the use of concepts and methods central to research and development activities within their field and are able to apply them comprehensively. They adhere to data protection and research ethics guidelines. They communicate and report clearly on research and development work. The student is able to independently implement research and development projects aimed at advancing working life and is capable of cooperating with others.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The student critically evaluates and thoroughly justifies the needs and stages of research and development work in their field. The student analyses and critically assesses information essential to development and skilfully applies it in development activities. They demonstrate excellent command of the use of key concepts and methods relevant to research and development activities in their field and are able to apply them in a versatile and innovative manner. They have thoroughly understood data protection and research ethics guidelines and develop practices in accordance with them. They communicate and report convincingly on research and development activities. The student is able to lead research and development projects that advance working life and is capable of constructive cooperation with others.
