Objective

The student is able to identify development needs and problem areas in his/her own field of study and work, and knows how to design a research & development project and implement it as a thesis proposal. He/she knows how to use reliable information from various sources in establishing the foundation and parameters of the thesis. The student is able to apply professional knowledge in and choose appropriate research & development methods and practices for his/her thesis.

Upon completion of the course you will be able to -

IBCRI Skills in Critical and Analytical Understanding
Critically review, analyze and understand information available from academic and professional business sources in the context of thesis planning, design and implementation process.

IBCOM Communication Skills

Communicate responsibly, effectively and professionally in English in oral and written formats in the context of planning, design and implementation process.

IBETH Ethical Conduct

Embrace ethical conduct in practice and decision-making in the context of thesis planning, design and implementation process. This may be according to the Principles for Responsible Management Education (UNPRME) or the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations.

Content

The content will include the description of the process and procedures for planning designing and implementing the thesis proposal
- Thesis topic and statement of the thesis problem as as a proposal
- Drafting and presentation of the thesis plan
- Source-critical information retrieval
- Academic writing and the formulation of a theoretical framework

Qualifications

Research and Development course
Data Analysis in Management course (can be taken concurrently with the Thesis Proposal course.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Sufficient (1) -

Critical and Analytical Understanding Skills - You show some ability to analyze and evaluate academic and business information relevant to thesis planning, design and implementation process.

Communications Skills - You are able to transmit to a limited extent your and your team’s ideas and findings in English in relation to thesis planning, design and implementation process.



Ethical skills - You are able to identify and assess some very basic ethical issues and discuss superficially their meaningful applications in the context of thesis planning, design and implementation process



Satisfactory (2) -

Critical and Analytical Understanding - You show basic ability to analyze and evaluate academic and business information relevant for thesis planning, design and implementation process.

Communications Skills - You are able to get your main message through when presenting your or your team’s thesis planning, design and implementation process ideas and findings in English but improvement would be needed.

Ethical skills - You are able to identify and assess some ethical issues for thesis planning, design and implementation process and discuss possible implications.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

Good (3) -

Critical and Analytical Understanding Skills - You show ability to analyze and evaluate academic and business information relevant to thesis planning, design and implementation process.

Communications Skills - You are able to transmit in a clear manner your and your team’s ideas and findings in English in relation to thesis planning, design and implementation process.

Ethical skills - You are able to identify and assess deeply and widely ethical issues and discuss superficially their meaningful applications in the context of thesis planning, design and implementation process

Very Good (4) -

Critical and Analytical Understanding - You show very good ability to analyze and evaluate academic and business information relevant for thesis planning, design and implementation process.

Communications Skills - You are able to get your main message through when presenting your or your team’s thesis planning, design and implementation process ideas and findings in a very good manner in English.

Ethical skills - You are able to identify and assess in a very good width and depth the ethical issues for thesis planning, design and implementation process and discuss possible implications.
