Objectives
Understanding the basics of safety engineering is essential part of engineers competences and skills. During Safety engineering course you will learn the ablility to integrate the principles of interference-free operation and prevention of damage into technological and organisational solutions as well as engineering work and techniques.
Investigation and information retrieval:
You are able to study and apply safety technology and risk management methods.
Engineering practice:
You are able to apply safety technology to solve practical problems through established risk management methods.
Multidisciplinary competences:
You understand the importance of safety in organizations as a part of responsible activity.
Content
Basic knowledge of occupational safety, information on the management of safety risks, i.e. work environment, environmental and other risks, and application of the information.
Evaluation scale
0-5
Evaluation criteria, satisfactory (1-2)
Adequate (1): You know the most common basics of safety issues and risk management methods discussed during the course and understand their purpose and practices. You are able to complete the risk analysis and safety tasks of the course, but you have clear shortcomings in the management of the methods.
Satisfactory (2): You know the most common basics of safety issues and risk management methods discussed during the course and understand their purpose and practices. You are able to complete the risk analysis and safety tasks of the course, but you have shortcomings in the management of the more challenging methods.
Evaluation criteria, good (3-4)
Good (3): You know the most common basics of safety issues and risk management methods discussed during the course and understand their purpose and practices. You are able to complete the risk analysis and safety tasks of the course, and you are able to manage even the more challenging methods.
Very good (4): You know the most common basics of safety issues and risk management methods discussed during the course and understand their purpose and practices. You are able to complete the risk analysis and safety tasks of the course, and you are able to manage even the more challenging methods and understand the theory behind them.
Evaluation criteria, excellent (5)
Excellent (5): You know the most common basics of safety issues and risk management methods discussed during the course and understand their purpose and practices. You are able to complete the risk analysis and safety tasks of the course, and you are able to manage even the more challenging methods and understand the theory behind them. You are able to apply themes discussed during the course even in challenging situations innovatively.
