Objectives

Project-based work is often relevant in development processes in various fields and that is why good project management skills are needed. A joint project language, concepts and understanding of the project world are the basis for successful cooperation. The purpose of this course is to give you understanding of the theory, concepts and principles in project management, and help you to apply project management tools in your own future projects.

Learning objectives
In this course, you will gain a comprehensive understanding of the typical stages involved in a project. You will learn how to create a project plan, execute the plan, and produce a final project report. By the end of the course, You will have the knowledge and skills necessary to be an effective project team member in various roles. Additionally, You will gain an understanding of essential project management tools and competences required to manage a project successfully.

1 (Sufficient) You can define project stages, complete relevant tasks, and demonstrate the ability to participate in teamwork in a practical project team. You complete tasks and assignments at the given times.

2 (Satisfactory): You can describe different knowledge areas of the project management and phases of the project lifecycle. You understand the meaning of the different tasks in project planning and reporting. You take part in the practical project team in different roles. You complete tasks and assignments at the given times.

Evaluation criteria, good (3-4)

3 (Good): You are able to demonstrate the project management process and identify features of the different phases of a project lifecycle and different knowledge areas. You can apply the features of the project phases in project planning and reporting. You can analyze a completed project on a good level. You show good teamwork skills and You complete tasks and assignments with good quality at given times.

4 (Very Good): You are able to demonstrate the project management process and features of the different phases of a project lifecycle. You are able to compare and differentiate project knowledge areas. You can analyze and defend the implementation of the project in different phases. You can also analyze and argue on a completed project. You show good teamwork skills, and You complete tasks and assignments with good quality at given times.

Evaluation criteria, excellent (5)

5 (Excellent): You are able to evaluate the project management process and plan and implement the project according to the phases of a project lifecycle. You are able to organize the project knowledge areas and emphasize knowledge areas critical to your project in implementation. You can analyze and defend the implementation of the project in different phases. You can also analyze, argue and develop a completed project. You show excellent teamwork skills, and You complete tasks and assignments with excellent quality at given times.
